She is Emeritus Research Director at the <em>Institut d\u2019Histoire des Repr\u00e9sentations et des Id\u00e9es dans les Modernit\u00e9s<\/em> of the \u00c9cole Normale Sup\u00e9rieure de Lyon (CNRS). She was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (2017).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among her numerous published works are: <em>Les Enluminures de la Leitura Nova, 1504\u20131552: \u00e9tude sur la culture artistique au Portugal au temps de l\u2019Humanisme<\/em> (1977), <em>As Imagens das \u201cIdades do Mundo\u201d de Francisco de Holanda<\/em> (1987), and <em>Ideias e Imagens em Portugal na \u00c9poca dos Descobrimentos: Francisco de Holanda e a Teoria da Arte<\/em> (1992).<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Renaissance art historian, Sylvie Deswarte-Rosa has devoted much of her research to the cultural and artistic relations between Portugal and Italy through the figure of Francisco de Holanda (1517\u20131584), painter, illuminator, architect, and author of artistic treatises.
