Science and Technology Foundation Grants
The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and the Academy of Sciences Lisbon (ACL) have signed a protocol for the award of ten doctoral research grants, with the distribution of two grants per year for five years.
The protocol aims to fund work in the areas of research and development (R&D) underlying the ACL's classes and sections, to carry out work leading to a doctoral degree at Portuguese universities. The research work will be carried out in close collaboration between the ACL and national R&D units.
Each grant will be renewable for a maximum of four years, and the FCT will finance all the costs associated with implementing the protocol. The ACL will be responsible for opening the annual calls for proposals, selecting the grant holders and monitoring the work projects.
This is a joint action of great importance for training qualified resources at the highest level.
