She obtained her Master\u2019s degree in Mathematics from the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon (1980), and the <em>Doctorat d\u2019\u00c9tat \u00e8s Sciences Math\u00e9matiques<\/em> from the University of Paris VI (1985), with a thesis on analysis on the Wiener space, under the supervision of Paul Malliavin. She earned her <em>Habilitation <\/em>in Mathematics at the University of Lisbon in 1991.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She served as <em>Ma\u00eetre de Conf\u00e9rences<\/em> at the Department of Mathematics of the Facult\u00e9 des Sciences d\u2019Orsay \u2013 University of Paris-Saclay (1985\u20131986), and as Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon (1986\u20132002).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her research focuses on stochastic analysis and infinite-dimensional analysis, as well as probabilistic and geometric methods in mathematical physics (hydrodynamics). She coordinated major research projects such as \u201cProbabilistic approach to finite and infinite-dimensional dynamical systems\u201d (FCT, 2010\u20132012) and \u201cFrom stochastic geometric mechanics to mass transport problems\u201d (FCT, 2016\u20132019).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was President of the Portuguese Mathematical Society (2000\u20132004), a member of the Scientific Council of IST (2021\u20132024), and a member of the Scientific Council for Exact Sciences and Engineering of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) (2017\u20132023).
