CRISTINA FREIRE is Full Professor at the University of Porto (Portugal), Faculty of Sciences, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Since April 2019, she has been Dean of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, and since April 2019, she has been a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Porto, and a member of several councils of the Faculty or of the University of Porto, and since January 2023, she has been President of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. She has been a member of the European Academy of Sciences (EURASC) since January 2020 and a corresponding member of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences (ACL) since July 2023. She is a member of the Coordination Council of the Materials Centre of the University of Porto (2017-) and a researcher at the Laborat\u00f3rio Associado para a Qu\u00edmica Verde at REQUIMTE (LAQV@REQUIMTE). She was a member of the Management Committee of the COST ACTION CM-1203 Polyoxometalate Chemistry for Molecular Nanoscience (PoCheMoN) and a member of the Programme Advisory Committee: UT Austin|Portugal, International Collaboratory for Emerging Technologies, CoLab (2015-17). Co-founder of INNOVCAT Ltd, a technology-based start-up (March 2015) with U.Porto Spin-Off seal, aiming to carry out R&D, production and commercialisation of solid catalysts and innovative functional materials for industrial applications in several sectors.
