Graduated (1996), PhD (2003) in Geology, and DSc (2020) in Earth Sciences.
Presently Associate Professor, University Fernando Pessoa, Porto, Portugal (since 2006), and Associate Professor, University Agostinho Neto, Luanda, Angola (since 2004); Consultant geologist in coal, oil and natural gas exploration.
Supervised 4 PhD theses and 30 MSc thesis.
Previously (2003-2012) head of department of Earth Sciences of diverse geology and mining companies.
With over 25-year career, her main fields of expertise are organic petrology and geochemistry of conventional (oil and natural gas) and non-conventional reservoirs (coal and coalbed methane), and basin analysis and modelling. Organized 4 international congresses and meetings and coordinated and or participated in 7 research projects in the domains of expertise.
Correspondent Member of the Academy of Sciences of Lisbon since 2020.
Member of the International Committee for Coal and Organic Petrology-ICCP since 1999.
