Martins is an Associate Professor at Instituto Superior T\u00e9cnico, University of Lisbon, a researcher at the Institute of Telecommunications, and Vice President of AI Research at Unbabel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His research, funded by an ERC Starting Grant (DeepSPIN) and an ERC Consolidator Grant (DECOLLAGE), among other grants, focuses on topics such as machine translation, quality estimation, structure, and interpretability in deep learning systems for Natural Language Processing (NLP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His work has received several best paper awards at ACL conferences.
