Full Professor with Aggregation (2012), in the Branch of Geography and Regional Planning, Specialization in Environment and Natural Resources, in the Department of Geography and Regional Planning of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Researcher integrated into the Interdisciplinary Center for Social Sciences CICS NOVA. Coordinator and\/or researcher in more than two dozen national and international projects, on topics related to Desertification, Climate Change, Natural Disasters. The research carried out to date has resulted in a total of nine dozen publications, of which around three dozen are book chapters, more than three dozen scientific articles in national and international journals, more than five dozen articles in proceedings at scientific meetings and the presentation of more than one and a half hundred communications by invitation at national and international scientific events. Received the Dryland Champions” award 2013 \/United Nations \/UNCCD – Ministry of Agriculture, Sea and Environment and Spatial Planning. Scientific Director of the Vale Formoso\/M\u00e9rtola Erosion Experimental Center. Participation in the organization and\/or in the Scientific Committees of more than six dozen international and national events. She has held several management positions, such as: SubDirector of Curriculum Management and Evaluation at FCSH between 2016 and June 2021; Vice-President of the Scientific Council between 2018 and June 2021. Member of the National Commission to Combat Desertification.
