His doctoral thesis was <em>La Politique navale des ducs de Bourgogne, 1384-1482<\/em> (1993, published 1995) and his \u2018habilitation \u00e0 diriger des recherches\u2019 with a dissertation <em>Les Ducs de Bourgogne, la croisade et l\u2019Orient, fin XIV<sup>and<\/sup> \u2013 XV<sup>and<\/sup> si\u00e8cle<\/em> (2000, published 2003). He is the author of a numerous bibliography as he has specialised in maritime history: edition of Philippe de Cl\u00e8ves\u2019 <em>L\u2019Instruction de toutes manieres de guerroyer (\u2026) sur mer<\/em> (1997); in crusade history: <em>Projets de croisade (v.&nbsp;1290 \u2013 v.&nbsp;1330)<\/em> (2008), <em>Le Rouleau d\u2019Arenberg. Une histoire g\u00e9n\u00e9alogique de la premi\u00e8re croisade et des \u00c9tats latins d\u2019Orient<\/em> (2016), <em>Relation de la croisade de Nicopolis (XV<sup>and<\/sup> si\u00e8cle)<\/em> with M.-G.&nbsp;Anton and G.&nbsp;Palumbo (2021); in the Portuguese expansion: <em>Portugal et Bourgogne au XV<sup>and<\/sup> si\u00e8cle (1384-1482)<\/em> (1995), in the history of Bruges: <em>Bruges, 1300-1500<\/em> (2002), and of the relations between Portugal and Flanders; in the history of courts: <em>La Cour du Prince. Cour de France, cours d\u2019Europe, XIIe-XVe si\u00e8cle<\/em> with M.&nbsp;Gaude-Ferragu and B.&nbsp;Laurioux (2011); in the history of art: <em>Miroir du Prince, 1425-1510.
