Historian, archaeologist, and epigraphist. Full Professor of Ancient History at the University of Barcelona (1988\u2013) and founder of the <em>Centro para el Estudio de la Interdependencia Provincial en la Antig\u00fcedad Cl\u00e1sica<\/em> at the same institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His main field of research is the study of food production and trade in the Roman Empire and their political and economic implications.
