Profile

Born in Porto in 1949, he was involved in the fight against the dictatorship before the Carnation Revolution (25 April 1974). He has worked as a teacher at various educational levels and served as a Member of Parliament in the Portuguese National Assembly and the European Parliament. He has published more than a dozen books on History and Politics and is a regular contributor to the press, radio, and television. He is the author of the blogs Abrupto, Estudos sobre o Comunismo, and Ephemera. For many years, he has been dedicated to the preservation of books, periodicals, documents, and objects related to contemporary Portuguese history. He founded and maintains the Ephemera Archive/Library, the largest private archive in Portugal.
