Driss Guerraoui obtained his Doctorat d’État in Economic Sciences from the Université Lumière – Lyon 2 (France) in 1982. He is a Professor at the Mohammed V University (1998-) in Rabat and at the Open University of Dakhla (2010-). Alongside his academic career, he has held various positions in the official institutions of the Kingdom of Morocco: Advisor to the Prime Minister in various governments (1998-2011), Secretary General of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (2011-2018) and President of the Competition Council (2018-2021). He is an Officer of the Ordre National de la Légion d’Honneur (2007), Mediterranean Award of Honor of the Mediterranean Foundation (2011), Medal of Economic Intelligence (50 Years, 50 Personalities) of the United States Agency for International Development (2011), Doctor Honoris Causa of the École de Commerce de Lyon (2017), President of the Economic Intelligence African Associations Forum (2018-), Corresponding Academician of the Reial Acadèmia Europea de Doctors (Barcelona, 2021), Member of the College of Emeritus of the Académie de l’Intelligence Économique (Paris, 2021), Member of the Royal Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco (2023) and International Leadership in Economic Intelligence Award by the Strategic & Competitive Intelligence Professionals Consortium (USA, 2024).
