Wu Zhiliang received his Ph.D. degree in history from Nanjing University. He is currently president of the board of directors of the Macao Foundation, president of the Federation of Associations of Cultural Sectors of Macau, founding president of the Union of Macau Scholars, president of the Council for History and Culture, visiting professor at the University of Macau and emeritus professor at the Beijing Foreign Studies University. He is also a deputy director of the Committee on Culture, Historical Data and Studies of the CPPCC, a consultant to the Chinese Association of Hong Kong & Macao Studies and a member of the national committee of the China Writers Association. His research focuses on history and politics of Macao. His major publications include A History of Political Systems in Macau, Luso-Chinese Encounter in Macau, Reading about Macau with Joy and Macau For A Reason.
