With two other colleagues, I am the Deputy Director of Linguarum Arena, a journal for the area of Language Didactics I published more than 190 works. Main scientific contributions : (1) linguistic pragmatics, linguistics of the uses of the system, and (2) Didactics of Portuguese, both as a Mother Language and as a Second Language. This double-stranded research is deeply interconnected with university teaching: I teach Pragmatics in the 3 study cycles (degree in Language Sciences, Master’s in Portuguese as a Second Language / Foreign Language, and PhD in Language Sciences) and Didactics in both the Master’s Degrees with Teaching Portuguese as Mother Tongue, whether in the PhD above. On the side of linguistic analysis, I highlight 3 central orientations: Discourse Markers, contrastive views between varieties of Portuguese and other Romance languages, reported speech (and “futuro perfeito” as mediative).
