Danilo Rodrigues Silva is a Retired Full Professor (since 1986) at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FPCEUL). He holds a degree in Philosophy (1969) from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon (FLUL) and a PhD in Clinical Psychology (1980) from the University of Lisbon, with the thesis The Children’s Apperception Test: Human Figures – CAT-H. He also holds a diploma in Pathological Psychology and a certification in Projective Techniques from the Institut de Psychologie of the Université René Descartes – Sorbonne (1971).
He taught at the Higher Institute of Applied Psychology (1971-1972), FLUL (1972-1980), and FPCEUL (1980-2003). At FPCEUL, he was responsible for the courses Techniques for Psychological Diagnosis and Assessment of Intelligence and Personality, and Rorschach Psychodiagnostics.
Within the institution, he held several leadership positions, serving as President of the Pedagogical Council (1981-1987), President of the Scientific Council (1987-1992), and President of the Directive Council (2000-2003). Additionally, he was a member of the Scientific Council of the Higher School of Education of Madeira (1987-1990).
Among his numerous academic contributions, notable works include the monograph The Psychoanalytic Perspective of TAT Interpretation (1971), as well as publications in his name or in collaboration with others in prestigious journals, such as the Revista Portuguesa de Psicologia, Revista Ibero-Americana de Diagnóstico y Evaluación Psicológica, Rorschachiana Yearbook of the International Rorschach Society, Revista de la Sociedad Española del Rorschach y Métodos Proyectivos, European Journal of Psychological Assessment, Journal of Projective Psychology & Mental Health, and the Revista Portuguesa de Pedagogia, among other scientific journals.
