Profile

Renato Flôres Júnior is a Ph.D. professor at EPGE – Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (FGV) in Rio de Janeiro and Director of the International Intelligence Unit at FGV.

He graduated in Engineering and earned a master’s degree in Statistics from IMPA, later obtaining his Ph.D. in Economics from UFRJ, with a focus on quantitative modeling and regional integration.

Throughout his career, he has held strategic positions as an expert at the World Trade Organization and as a consultant for institutions such as the IDB, the World Bank, and the OECD.

He is the author of more than fifty scientific articles and several books, including The Regional Integrations Manual (2013) and The World Corona Changed (2022), addressing themes such as geopolitics, international political economy, and regional integration. His research has a strong applied and international dimension, and he is recognized as an authority in general equilibrium models, political economy, and emerging geoeconomics.
