Profile

Lexicographer. He earned a degree in Romance Philology from the Complutense University of Madrid (1977) and a Ph.D. in Galician Philology (1999) from the University of Santiago de Compostela, with the dissertation O Falar dos Concelhos de Trasmiras e Qualedro. He is a Professor of Didactics of the Galician Language and Literature at the University of Vigo, a member of the Linguistic Commission of the Galician Language Association, and Vice-President of the Galician Academy of the Portuguese Language.

Among his main publications are: Contos com reviravolta (1973), Dicionário da Língua Galega (1986), and Estudos Filológicos Galegoportugueses (1987).
