Profile

Carlos Tasso de Saxe-Coburgo e Bragança pursued his studies at Colégio de Santo Inácio and at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. A descendant of the Brazilian Imperial Family, he is an economist, entrepreneur, and historian, with a particular focus on the History of Brazil. He is a member of the Historical and Geographical Institutes of Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Sul, of the Real Academia de la Historia (Madrid), and of the Portuguese Academy of History.

Among his published works are: A Princesa Flor, D. Maria Amélia (2009), D. Pedro II em Viena, 1871-1877 (2010), and D. Pedro II na Alemanha: uma amizade tradicional (2014).
