Profile

Musician, conductor, and composer, specialist in Early Music. Jordi Saval received his musical training at the Conservatory of Barcelona and later at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel. Seeking to revitalize original early, medieval, and Renaissance music, as well as that of the Baroque period, he has devoted particular attention to works produced in the Iberian Peninsula, studying and publishing forgotten and unpublished pieces.

To disseminate this work, he founded three musical ensembles: Hespèrion XX (1974), La Capella Reial de Catalunya (1987), and Le Concert des Nations (1989). His discography includes beyond one hundred recordings, which have received dozens of international awards.
