Profile

She has been a Full Professor of Finance at ISEG Lisbon School of Economics and Management, University of Lisbon, since 2010. She served as President of ISEG from July 2018 to November 2022. Within the university, she has held various roles, including Head of the Finance Scientific Area in the Department of Management and Coordinator of the master’s in finance, the Master’s in Management (MiM), the Postgraduate Programme in Financial Analysis, and the executive programmes Sustainable Finance: Green and Climate Finance and Strategic Leadership Program (in collaboration with Columbia Business School). As part of her academic work, she has authored publications in international scientific journals, including the International Journal of Central Banking, the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, and Small Business Economics.

Previously, she was an Associate Professor with habilitation, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor at ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon (2000-2010), University Lecturer of Finance at the University of Oxford, Saïd Business School (1998-2000), Tutorial Fellow of Management at St. Edmund Hall, University of Oxford (1998-2000), and a Teaching Assistant at Nova SBE, Nova University Lisbon (1992-1993). On 30 May 2019, she was elected a Corresponding Member of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences.

Until November 2022, she was Chair of the Board of Directors of Greenvolt – Energias Renováveis, S.A. and a board member of IPCG – Portuguese Institute of Corporate Governance. She is an Ambassador for the SDG Alliance – Portugal and has been a member of the Advisory Board of BCSD – Portugal since 2020. In December 2022, she was appointed Deputy Governor of the Bank of Portugal.
