Profile

Cláudia Teixeira is an associate professor at the University of Évora (School of Social Sciences, Department of Linguistics and Literatures) and an integrated member of the Center for Classical and Humanistic Studies at the University of Coimbra. In her research, she has focused on Latin Literature (epic, novel, and biography) from the imperial period. She is also interested in the cultural context of the University of Évora in the 16th and 17th centuries. She has been a member of several national and international projects and, in recent years, has co-coordinated a project on Biography and Identity in the Roman Empire. She is also interested in the cultural context of the University of Évora in the 16th and 17th centuries and in the translations of Latin works produced during the Neoclassical period in Portugal.
