Profile

A faculty member at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon, where he obtained his PhD under the supervision of Professors Aníbal Pinto de Castro and Maria Vitalina Leal de Matos, with a dissertation titled Portuguese Chivalric Books, from the Renaissance to Mannerism (1999).

Her research focuses primarily on 16th- and 17th-century Portuguese literature, while also considering the cultural connections between Portugal, the Iberian Peninsula, and Italy. Her studies on Gil Vicente, Camões, Jorge Ferreira de Vasconcelos, Francisco de Holanda, and Father António Vieira have been published in academic journals and collective volumes.

In addition to editing books that compile studies or critical texts by various authors—such as Peregrinação, 1614 (Lisbon, Centro de Estudos Clássicos, 2017); Eduardo Lourenço, Obras Completas. Requiem para Alguns Vivos, vol. VIII (Lisbon, Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, 2020); and, with Ilda Mendes dos Santos, República das Letras. Bibliotecas Viajantes (Paris-Coimbra, Crépal-CIEC, 2020)—she has also contributed to the preparation of volumes such as Obras de Álvaro de Brito (Lisbon, Comissão Nacional para as Comemorações dos Descobrimentos Portugueses, 1997), Poesia Maneirista (Lisbon, Editorial Comunicação, 1998), and Os Lusíadas Comentados por D. Marcos de S. Lourenço (Coimbra, Centro Interuniversitário de Estudos Camonianos, 2014), either individually or in collaboration with other scholars.
