Profile

Member of the Franciscan Order and priest, with a degree in Scholastic Philosophy (Catholic Institute of Toulouse, France), as well as a degree and a PhD in Philosophy (Faculty of Arts, University of Lisbon). Full Professor at the University of Lisbon, where he taught, and lecturer at the Catholic University of Portugal. Member of the National Council for Ethics in Life Sciences, Founder and Director of the Centre for Philosophy at the University of Lisbon. Author of Man and World in Saint Bonaventure, Medieval Humanism, and Itinerancies of Writing (3 volumes). Awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Public Instruction. President of the Scientific Society of the Catholic University of Portugal and Director of the Institute for Scientific Coordination of the Catholic University of Portugal (ICIC).
