Profile

Pedro Magalhães (b. 1970) is a coordinating researcher at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon. He received his PhD in Political Science from Ohio State University, United States, in 2003. He was Director of the Center for Opinion Polls and Studies at the Catholic University and Scientific Director of the Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation. He is currently coordinator of the PASSDA- Production and Archive of Social Science Data infrastructure. He is the author of more than 70 articles in international journals in the field of Political Science and is the co-organizer of several books published by publishers such as Oxford University Press and Routledge. In particular, with Jorge Fernandes and António Costa Pinto, he organized the Oxford Handbook of Portuguese Politics, published in Portugal under the title O Essencial da Política Portuguesa (Tinta da China).
