Profile

Susana Peralta was born in Lisbon in 1975, where she graduated in Economics from the Portuguese Catholic University in 1997. She is an Associate Professor at the Nova School of Business and Economics. She has a PhD in Economics from the Université catholique de Louvain in Belgium. She has been teaching public policy, poverty economics and microeconomics at Nova SBE since 2004. She was Academic Director of the Master’s in Economics, the Research Master’s in Economics and the PhD in Economics. She specializes in Public Economics and has published research in international journals such as the Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Urban Economics, The Economic Journal and Public Choice. She has or had several projects funded by FCT as Principal Investigator or co-principal investigator. Susana Peralta is also the coordinator of the Portugal, Balanço Social project, a joint initiative between the La Caixa Foundation and Nova SBE.
Susana Peralta lives in Lisbon, is married and has two daughters and a son.
