Teresa is a Geographer, MsC in Environmental Management and PhD in Landscape Ecology. Full Professor at Évora University. Director of the Associated Lab CHANGE – Institute for Global Change and Sustainability, gathering three R&I units and 330 senior researchers. Member and Vice-Chair of the Soil Mission Board of Horizon Europe (EU Commission). Coordinator of the Living Lab on Montado Regeneration through Soil Health. Coordinator of the Soil Chair at the University of Évora. 140 peer reviewed publications, including the books “Governance for Resilient Mediterranean Silvo-Pastoral Systems: Lessons from the Iberian Dehesas and Montados”, Routledge 2022 , “European Landscapes in Transition – Implications for Policy and Practice”, CambridgePress 2018. Teresa’s team, LABscape (Lansdcape Systems Lab) , at the I&D unit MED (Mediterranean Agriculture, Environment and Development (www.med.uevora.pt), applies a systems approach to rural landscape transitions and governance, Mediterranean farming and forestry systems and public goods, policy mechanisms for rural regeneration, innovation and knowledge co-construction, with an increasing focus on mechanisms and research skills required for long term linkages science-practice-policy.
