Zélia Pereira holds a PhD from the University of Porto (1997). She is a Principal Investigator with Habilitation at the National Laboratory of Geology and Energy (LNEG) (Geological Services). Research domains: Palynostratigraphic dating of Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic sediments, with emphasis on the dating of sediments in sedimentary basins associated with Geological and Energy Resource exploration; support for defining stratigraphic sequences in National Geological Mapping programs; lithotheques, collections, and museums, and the valorization of LNEG’s scientific heritage. She supervises/supervised master’s, doctoral, and postdoctoral students, both national and international. She is the author or coauthor of more than one hundred publications (book chapters, papers in indexed journals, and conference proceedings) within her scientific field. She conducts applied research and collaborates with companies on international projects in Spain, France, Angola, Mozambique, Brazil, Namibia, and Timor, among others, as well as in several national projects funded by European funds.
